Dr. Thomas Heeren
After earning his dental degree from the University of Tennessee, Dr. Heeren served as a military dental officer for four years in the U.S. Navy. His first duty station was in Bethesda, Md., where he completed a general practice residency in hospital dentistry at the National Naval Medical Center, “The President’s Hospital.” At the completion of his residency, Dr. Heeren received orders to the Marine Corps Air Station in Yuma, AZ, where he provided general dentistry to more than 4000 active-duty patients in support of Marine Corps units en route to their missions in Iraq and Afghanistan. During his tour with the USMC, Dr. Heeren deployed for eight months in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom where he was the sole provider of dental services in the western Iraq area of operations.
Upon returning, Dr. Heeren earned his Post-Graduate Certificate in Endodontics and a Master of Science in Dentistry at the Medical University of South Carolina.
Dr. Heeren’s passion for endodontics developed while in dental school. Today, he is excited to serve his patients in the Nashville area with his caring personality, skill, and continued knowledge of today’s advanced endodontic techniques. He has presented his research at the annual meeting of the American Association of Endodontists and is published in the Journal of Endodontics.
During his free time, Dr. Heeren plays the guitar, enjoys live music and a variety of sports and outdoor activities.
